Cops recover 18 stolen mobile phones from Pune youth

A 19-year-old was held by the crime branch officials from Swargate bus stand

Ganesh Baburao Parge (19) was arrested from the Swargate bus stand by Unit 3 of the crime branch on Tuesday in possession of seven mobile phones, said deputy police commissioner Pankaj Dahane.

Eleven other phones were found in his possession after further investigation, the police said. The collective worth of the 18 mobile phones was estimated to be 1,50,000 by the police.

These mobile phones were stolen at the State Transport (ST) bus stand and Pune railway station, Parge told the police, according to a police statement.

The 19-year-old is a resident of Ghonshi in Jalkot region of Latur district, according to the police. Parge was arrested before in similar case. He was also booked in a case at the Udgir police station in Latur for stealing eight bicycles in the year 2013, when he was a minor. Parge, who studied till class 9, lost his mother in 2013, said senior PI More.
