Two arrested for raping 13-year-old boy in Pune

Khadak police arrested two men for raping a 13-year-old boy near Gani Peth on Friday.
Sources said, the boy was playing with his friend near Mahatma Phule Wada in Gani Peth when his friend went to a nearby shop to buy chewing gum. At that time, two men identified as Pappu Ram Jadhav (28) and Vijay Sawla Mane (30) approached the boy on a bike. Under the pretext of taking him for a ride, the duo took the boy to Jadhav’s brother’s house and raped him in turns. They dropped the victim near his house and threatened him of dire consequences if he mentioned anything about the incident to anyone.
Meanwhile, the boy’s father went looking for him after 9pm but returned without the boy. An hour later, the 13-year-old returned home and when asked where he was, he began crying and eventually narrated the series of events to his parents.
The father filed a complaint the two men with Khadak police. The duo were booked under Section 3 and 4 of Prevention of Children against Sexual Offence (POCSO), 2012 based on the father’s complaint and subsequent medical tests at Sassoon Hospital, said senior police inspector Mokashe of Khadak police station. The two men were also booked under Indian Penal Code (IPC) Section 363, 377, 506, 34.
The case is being investigated by assistant police inspector (API) Umaji Rathod. The boy’s parents and the two men, both work as labourers and are residents of Ganj Peth area.
