Marriage lawn by the Mutha you booked may be now demolished

The National Green Tribunal has ordered the demolition of all unauthorised lawns and marriage halls on DP road, if they are found in the blue flood line of the Mutha river

The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has asked the irrigation department to carry out a joint survey of marriage halls and lawns on the Dhole Patil road between Mhatre Bridge and Rajaram Bridge as instructed by the National Green Tribunal (NGT).

The NGT has ordered the demolition of all unauthorised lawns and marriage halls on this road, if they are found in the blue flood line of the Mutha river. The tribunal had also instructed the civic administration to do a joint survey with the irrigation department within a week.

PMC city engineer Prashant Waghmare said, “As instructed by NGT, PMC wrote a letter to the irrigation department to start the joint survey of these properties. The survey will finish in the next few days.”

Waghmare said that the civic body would conduct the necessary action suggested by NGT once the survey report is ready. The properties found in the blue line would be demolished and fine would be imposed if dumping activity is found on the river bed.
