The suit was filed in the court of civil judge, senior division, Gurpartap Singh, here under Sections 499, 500, 34, 120-B of the Code of Criminal Procedure (CrPC), accusing the AAP leaders of tarnishing the reputation of Bikram Majithia and his family members through false, malicious allegations.

AAP hit back daring Majithia to lodge a case against its leaders and get them arrested.

“Majithia should stop playing cat and mouse by filing a spate of court cases against AAP leaders. If he has the guts, he should file an FIR against the AAP leaders and get them arrested by Punjab Police,” said Sanjay Singh, who is in charge of AAP’s Punjab unit. “He should know court cases take time before reaching the final conclusion. So, instead of playing such tricks to hoodwink people and to browbeat AAP leaders, he should put us in jail,” the AAP leader said.

This is the second defamation suit filed by Majithia against AAP leaders who have accused him of being complicit with the drug trade and not doing enough to control the menace in Punjab.
