Following a complaint from the father of the victims, division number four booked the accused under section 279 (rash driving), 338 (causing grievous hurt by act endangering life or personal safety of others) and 427 (mischief causing damage to the amount of fifty rupees) on June 7.

The court did not pass a harsh judgment on the matter, since the accused is a minor and a school-going student. To complete his punishment, the boy has been helping cops manage traffic at Jagraon Bridge. After the boy completes his term, the police will send a report to the court.

Additional deputy commissioner of police Gurdeep Singh said the boy has been regular for the past four days. He also mentioned that he is learning and helping traffic cops in traffic management.
