A seven-year-old boy was allegedly found murdered in maize fields at Nangal Salempur village here on Wednesday morning, three days after he went missing under mysterious circumstances from outside his house.
The deceased has been identified as Neeraj, son of migrant labourer Fodari Singh, a native of Madhupur in Bihar. A piece of cloth was found tied around the neck of the half naked body and the victim’s clothes and slippers were lying near the spot.
Neeraj’s family had filed the missing complaint with Jandu Singha police three days ago and a kidnapping case was also registered against unidentified persons.
The police suspect that the boy has been strangulated to death at some other place after kidnapping and later his body was dumped in the fields.
After getting the information, senior police officials, accompanied with forensic team, rushed to the spot and initiated the probe. The body was shifted to civil hospital after post-mortem examination.

{{/usCountry}}He stated that on Sunday evening, Neeraj went missing from the street when he was playing with other children and he, along with other family members, tried to locate him at several places, but to no avail. He added that after failing attempts of finding his son, he registered a missing complaint with the police.
Meanwhile, the deceased’s father is suspecting two people — factory co-worker Gulshan and their neighbour Mulla. Fodari disclosed that his wife Karo Devi works in local bottle package factory in the same village and she had exchanged heated arguments with co-worker Gulshan on the petty issue and Mulla was annoyed over children playing outside his house.
A case under Section 302 (murder) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) has also been added in the case and police are yet to make any headway.
Kartarpur’ assistant superintendent of police Bhagirath Singh Meena said the accused would be arrested soon.
