Victim Krishan Kumar told the police he was kidnapped on Sunday when he had gone to visit his friend Jasbir Kaur at Lehal Colony in Patiala. He alleged four persons entered her house and overpowered him. Later, they forcibly pushed him into his Skoda car and took him away. Victim Krishan Kumar, who resides at New Officer Colony, told the police that he was kidnapped on Sunday when he had gone to visit his friend Jasbir Kaur at Lehal Colony in Patiala. He alleged four persons entered her house and overpowered him. Later, they forcibly pushed him into his Skoda car and took him away.

Although cops did not divulge where the victim was taken from there, they said he was thrown in the Bhakra canal near Jassowal village on Monday afternoon. He was unconscious when some locals rescued him, said police. The rescuers rushed him to a nearby hospital and informed his family and police.

In his statement to cops, the victim stated the accused had demanded Rs 10 lakh from him. When he refused, they threw him into the canal with his hands tied together. Krishan Kumar said the miscreants snatched his two mobile phones, a gold and a silver ring and Rs 10,000 besides taking away his car.

Singh said information about the stolen car, which has been registered in Kurukshetra, Haryana, and about the four unidentified suspects has been flashed to other police stations. He said further investigations were on to trace the criminals.
