Chief ministers Vasundhara Raje and Virbhadra Singh on Friday called on their Punjab counterpart Captain Amarinder Singh at his residence in Patiala to condole the death of his mother ‘Rajmata’ Mohinder Kaur.

The chief ministers reached the New Moti Bagh Palace in the afternoon and were there for a couple of hours.
Rajasthan chief minister Raje and Himachal Pradesh chief minister Virbhadra Singh conveyed to Amarinder and other members of the erstwhile Patiala royal family their deepest sympathies and condolences.
Former SGPC president Avtar Singh Makkar, Namdhari head Satguru Dalip Singh, former SAD ministers Hira Singh Gabria and Daljit Singh Cheema, former BJP minister Manoranjan Kalia and Akali leader Maheshinder Singh Grewal also met the Punjab chief minister.
A ‘shabad kirtan’ was held at the palace in the evening and a ‘bhog’ ceremony with ‘antim ardas’ will be held on Sunday, a member of Amarinder’s family said.
On Wednesday, President Ram Nath Kovind and Union finance minister Arun Jaitley had telephoned Amarinder to condole the death of the Rajmata.
Amarinder is in Patiala. His mother passed away on Monday from a prolonged illness.
