Will not let Centre implement anti-Punjab verdict on river water: Sukhbir
“Whether it is the Union government or Iraqi government or the American government, if anyone comes to snatch our water, we will not let them enter Punjab to implement orders against Punjabis,” Sukhbir said while talking to reporters in Adampur.
Just minutes before the Supreme Court struck down the 2004 Punjab law that had annulled river water-sharing agreements with Haryana and other states, Punjab deputy chief minister Sukhbir Badal on Thursday said that the government “will not allow” the Union Government to implement the order. The Sutlej-Yamuna Link (SYL) canal, through which Punjab was to share water with Haryana, is central to the issue.

But the SAD chief made it clear that the government in Punjab will not resign over the verdict. “We will fight back.”
In Fatehgarh Sahib too, he said, “We have already made it clear that we will not give even a single drop of our water to anyone.”
