Directed by S Krishna, Hebbuli (meaning strong and ferocious tiger) is reportedly based on the Indian army’s surgical strikes in Kashmir last year. Besides Sudeep, who shot to fame with his performance in SS Rajamouli’s Eega/Makkhi (2012), the film also features Amala Paul, V Ravichandran, Kabir Duhan Singh and P Ravi Shankar.

According to a media report, the film has been made on a lavish budget and will release in 300 screens across the state. Hebbuli had a tremendous pre-release buzz, and the makers hope to make Rs 20 crore on the opening day.

Director Krishna also comes with a lot of expectations. Though Hebbuli is only his second film, his directorial debut – Gajakesari (2014) – was a success.
