He is riding high on the success of the latest film in his franchise Baahubali, Baahubali 2 The Conclusion. Filmmaker SS Rajamouli, however, is not tasting success for the first time with the Prabhas-starrer. He has had a history of great box office records with films like Magadheera and Eega.

In a shocking revelation, Rajamouli has revealed that the box office figures of Magadheera were inflated! An India Today report quoted the director as saying, “My film Simhadri enjoyed a great box office run of 100 days in several theatres. We were all very happy, but the producers inflated the numbers and claimed that it ran for 175 days for publicity. I felt irritated and humiliated by that.”
Ram Charan Teja-starrer Magadheera released on July 31, 2009. It grossed Rs 104 crore worldwide. Produced by Allu Aravind , the film starred Kajal Aggarwal opposite Ram Charan.

Magadheera became one of the biggest Tollywood blockbusters of all-time. When I was excited about the success, they started publicising that it ran 100 days in so many theatres. I confronted Aravind about it and he said he didn’t want to, but had to, because of pressure from fans. I could understand his situation, but at the same time, I didn’t want to endorse all those wrong calculations,” he further said.
When Magadheera team celebrated good box office performance , Rajamouli did not attend the success party. And, we think the reason is now out in public.
