Mahanati is undoubtedly one of the most exciting Telugu films in recent times. A biopic on legendary southern actor Savitri, the film will give audiences a tour into the golden era of Telugu filmdom. Ahead of the film’s release on Wednesday, actor Rana Daggubati took to Twitter to wish the film and its makers.
He wrote: “What a great story all of you chose to tell. Immortalising cinema and its Gods/Goddesses through cinema itself. Nothing can be more satisfying. My best wishes to team Mahanati.”
The film stars Keerthy Suresh in the titular role and she had recently revealed that this is the most challenging project of her career to date. Mahanati also stars Samantha Akkineni, who will be seen playing a journalist. It is through her eyes the story of Savitri will unfold. Dulquer Salman will be seen playing Gemini Ganesan, who was married to Savitri.

Produced by Vyjayanthi Movies and directed by Nag Ashwin, the film has been simultaneously made in Telugu and Tamil. The makers are contemplating getting the movie dubbed in Malayalam as well. The film also stars Shalini Pandey, Rajendra Prasad and Prakash Raj in crucial roles.
