Mohanlal’s next film with one his favourite directors, Priyadarshan, is a biopic about a 16th Century naval chief. The poster was recently revealed by the filmmakers and pre-production work is currently underway. Now, the official Twitter page of the movie has shared some exciting news. It looks like Pranav Mohanlal, Mohanlal’s son, will be playing the younger version of his father’s character.
The Twitter page shared a picture of the father-son duo and captioned the image, “Yes… It really happens… Pranav Mohanlal will make a special appearance in Marakkar – Arabikadalinte Simham as the young #KunjaliMarakkar… We all are excited…”
Reports of Nagarjuna being approached to play a role in the film were confirmed by the star recently. He said that he has not made his decision yet, and will make an announcement only after he listens to the script at end of June. There is also speculation that Madhoobala and Prabhu will play pivotal roles in the film.

The actor will next be seen in Neerali, which is slated to release in July. He will also be seen in Nivin Pauly’s project, Kayamkulam Kochunni, after which the much awaited Odiyan is expected to release. Mohanlal has also signed on to play a pivotal role in Suriya’s upcoming film, to be directed by KV Anand and produced by Sun Pictures.
