Rajamouli’s Baahubali sequel delayed, to release in 2017 now?

The part two of SS Rajamouli’s magnum opus Baahubali was suppose to hit the screens in 2016. But, it will only release in 2017, as per reports.

This year, director SS Rajamouli’s Baahubali became the first dubbed film in Hindi (it is originally a Telugu movie) to make over Rs 100 crore. Overall, it crossed the Rs 600-crore mark. Before the release of the big-budget movie, it was announced that the film will be made as a two-part series.

After the success of the first installment, the expectations from the second part are even higher. But it seems that fans of the film will have to wait a bit longer to see the second part. Even though the movie was scheduled to release in 2016, sources claim that the film will now hit the big screens only in 2017. The film stars Prabhas in the lead role.

An insider says, “Even though a few war scenes and some other key sequences have been filmed, 70% of the movie is yet to be shot. The shooting will go on till July 2016, post which the VFX work will start.”
