Mrunmayee Deshpande has already had two releases this year, and now she is gearing up for Nisheeta Keni’s Bogda, Mahesh Manjrekar’s Ek Radha Ek Meera and Swapnaneel Jayakar’s August 15. The Shikari actor is glad that her decisions taken at different times are falling in the right place now. “The films that have come out this year (Shikari and Farzand), were shot and signed at different times. However, they released one after the other, and I am glad. I started the year by breaking my stereotypical image and I am moving forward, exploring newer genres,” says Mrunmayee.
The actor will be seen with veteran Suhas Joshi in Bogda, which talks about mercy killing, and explores the bond between a mother and her daughter on a road trip. “While shooting for it, I did get glimpses of Piku (2015) in it. However, the bond between the parent and child here is completely different,” says the Katyar Kaljat Ghusali (2015) actor.
Having known Joshi for a decade now, Mrunmayee shares that the two had a blast while shooting. “We have worked together in television soaps. There is so much to learn from her. Honestly, after the script it was because of her that I chose to be a part of Bogda. She has taught me patience and manners, something that is only found in these few yesteryear actors. I have learnt from her how to evolve and change with time”
Mrunmayee’s choice of projects have always weighed on the script. However, the actor has decided to tweak this habit of hers. “I am going to start to check on the makers of the film too. Simply because I have seen how great scripts have not been able to convert into great films. The overall presentation of a film is also important.”
