Vijay Sethupathi in 96: After Vikram Vedha’s gangster, actor to be a 96-year-old

Vijay Sethupathi is easily the most sought after actor in Kollywood today. After the success of Vikram Vedha, his next will feature play him in three different avatars -- aged 16, 36 and 96.

Basking in the success of Vikram Vedha, in which he played a gangster, Vijay Sethupathi is the man of the moment. With nearly half a dozen films in kitty, he has an exciting line up of releases and ‘96’ happens to be one of the films to have garnered a lot of attention. According to a reliable source, the story tracks three stages in the career of Vijay Sethupathi as he will be seen playing a 16-year-old-, 36-year-old and 96-year-old. It’s tipped to be a love story told from the perspective of a man at three different stages in his career.

Being directed by Prem Kumar, the film also stars Trisha and is currently on the floors in Pondicherry. The film also features Kaali Venkat and Aadukalam Murugadoss in important roles. It is believed that as a 96-year-old Vijay will make a brief appearance as he will be seen playing a 16-year-old and 36-year-old through most part of the film. Talk about experimentation and Vijay Sethupathi has lot tricks up his sleeves. In one of his upcoming projects called Oru Nalla Naal Paathu Solren, he will sport eight different looks. “Sethupathi sir’s character is not serious or violent, but comic in nature. He plays a character named Yeman and the script commanded him to appear in different get-ups. Each time he wore a new get-up, it unintentionally ended up resembling another actor from the industry. I can’t reveal much at this point, but the first look will be released soon, giving a glimpse of his eight different characters,” the film’s director had said.
