Most Indian women remember their first travel more vividly than their first kiss

Travelling is big on the mind of Indians with around 50% wanting to travel solo for the first time in 2017, finds a new Booking.com survey.

Indians consider travelling a more enriching experience than going on a first date or making a new friend, finds a new survey.

The research, done by Booking.com, surveyed over 15,000 people from 20 countries worldwide, including India.

Here are some of the moat interesting findings from Indian respondents:

- For Indians, first-time travel is considered to be more memorable than their first pet (58%), first date (56%) or making a new friend (55%).

- Women (48%) are more likely than men (40%) to say they remember travelling somewhere for the first time more vividly than their first kiss.

- More than half (50%) of Indian respondents are planning to travel solo for the first time in 2017.

- Indians generally started travelling when they’re a bit older — only 24% had taken their first trip by the age of 10. About half (49%) had their first trip between ages 18 and 34.

- Women (22%) are more likely than men (11%) to have had their first travel experience outside of India.
