BJP MP from Bengaluru, Tejasvi Surya and his wife, singer Sivasri Skandaprasad, welcomed a Punganur baby cow to their family and shared a video showing the calf entering their house.
“Meet our newest bundle of moo! Little Punganur calf has arrived, and our hearts are brimming with joy. She’s small, but has a big innocent face and bigger doe eyes. Blessings of Govinda all around. Just pure grace,” Skandaprasad said, sharing the video on social media.

In the clip, the BJP MP was seen celebrating the arrival of the little brown cow by putting a garland on it as it entered their house, surrounded by family. The couple petted the animal first before applying a small tilak to its forehead and putting a garland around its neck. Tejasvi Surya was seen holding onto the baby cow as a group of ladies performed an aarti to welcome it inside.

Last year, Prime Minister Narendra Modi welcomed a similar Punganur baby cow to his official residence. The rare breed, which is one of the smallest humped cattle, is famous for its higher milk production and originated from the Rayalaseema region in Andhra Pradesh.
The Prime Minister shared a video on X announcing the arrival of the calf, adding that it was born to a cow in his house. PM Modi named the calf "Deepjyoti," referring to the mark on its forehead.
"It is said in our scriptures - 'Gaav: Sarvasukha Prada'. A new member has auspiciously arrived at the Prime Minister's residence premises at Lok Kalyan Marg. At the Prime Minister's residence, the beloved mother cow has given birth to a new calf, on whose forehead there is a mark of light. Hence, I have named it 'Deepjyoti'," he said.
