Eaters, a popular website covering food and dining culture, recently revealed the top 11 destinations around the world where one should try the food, and Kolkata has made it to the list. While judging the parameters, Eaters informed that they not only looked at the must-try dishes but "Also the aspects of meals that make them feel immersive: the people, environment, culture, and history behind foods that force us to pause and tempt us from preplanned paths."

Kolkata is not only known for its rich culture and heritage but it is also said to be a paradise for foodies. The place has a variety of flavours to offer, and each dish will make your mouth water. Many people even visit Bengal to immerse themselves in a local food experience. Now the popularity of Kolkata's food has impressed people so much that it has made it to the best 11 culinary destinations in the world.
Other cities that made it to the list are Tamaki Makaurau (New Zealand), Asheville (North Carolina), Albuquerque (New Mexico), Guatemala City (Guatemala), Cambridge (England), Dakar (Senegal), Halland (Sweden), Sardinia (Italy), Manila (Philippines) and Ho Chi Minh City (Vietnam).
