Navigating sudden unemployment can be daunting, but one tech professional found strength in his father's unwavering support. After being laid off from his JP Morgan role in the UK, Kaish Ansari shared a touching video on Instagram that captured his father's comforting reaction. Speaking with hindustantimes.com, Ansari revealed that his father, a former tailor, was primarily concerned about his mental health and motivated him to take care of himself.

“I’m sharing this video not for sympathy, but to remind anyone going through a difficult phase that you are NOT alone. Your family is always with you, no matter what,” Kaish Ansari wrote on Instagram.
Opening up about his sudden job loss, he continued, “Getting laid off is painful. No matter how experienced you are or how hard you’ve worked, suddenly losing your job can make you question yourself, your career, and your future.”
He reflected on how his father’s words helped ground him during a moment of intense professional self-doubt. Describing the heartwarming exchange, he emphasised that unwavering family belief remains the ultimate motivation during tough times.

Ansari continued, “My dad has always been one of my biggest sources of motivation. Through every success and every difficult phase, his belief in me has never changed. When I doubt myself, he reminds me to keep going. When things don’t go according to plan, he reminds me that life doesn’t end there.”
Why did he share the conversation?
The emotional son wrote, “That’s the kind of support only family can give. I’m sharing this because I know many people are silently going through the same thing. Layoffs, rejections, failed interviews, uncertainty, financial pressure, or simply wondering, ‘What am I going to do next?’.”
Furthermore, he hoped the message would offer comfort to job seekers struggling with rejection and financial anxiety.
“If you’re one of them, please remember: A layoff is not a reflection of your worth. It’s one event in your career, not the end of your career. Don’t let one setback make you forget everything you’ve achieved so far.”
Ansari expressed, “Keep learning. Keep improving. Keep applying. Keep believing. There are opportunities ahead that we haven’t even discovered yet. Sometimes life closes one door only to push us toward something much better.”
“And dad…”
Expressing gratitude to his father, Ansari wrote, “Your love, your support, and your dua have always given me the strength to keep moving forward. I may have lost a job, but I haven’t lost my confidence, my ambition, or my willingness to fight. I’ll fight this setback, come back stronger, and hopefully come back with an even better offer.”
“Worried about my mental health”
Talking to hindustantimes.com, Ansari shared how his father was never worried about his job loss but more about how he was doing.
“He was mainly worried about my mental health because I have full responsibility for my family. I'm the only one who’s financially supporting my family. He was a tailor by profession, so he said I still have the energy to start working for my family. Basically, I asked him to rest after I got the job.”
When asked how his job search was progressing, the man shared, “The job market in the UK is a bit tough right now, but still, I’m getting a few interviews. Preparing for interviews and yeah, soon I will get something better.”
Kaish Ansari hails from Salempur in Deoria (district), Uttar Pradesh, and now lives in the UK.
