Kaun Banega Crorepati season 11 premiered on Monday, August 19. Hosted once again by actor Amitabh Bachchan, the popular game show tests contestants’ general knowledge with a series of increasingly difficult questions.Based on the British show Who Wants to be a Millionaire? KBC, as it is popularly known, has been hosted by Bachchan for all but one of its 11 seasons - the sole exception was season three, which was hosted by Shah Rukh Khan.Bachchan at a recent press event said that his decision to host the show was quite unplanned. “It was just a coincidence. The channel came about with this idea. Circumstances were such that everyone felt I should not go there (on TV) especially people from my home but I just felt that this was something new,” he said.This season, viewers at home will be able to participate in the show as it unfolds.
