- Joan Mir stunned the racing world when he clinched the MotoGP World Championship in 2020. A newbie in only his second season in the premier class, riding a bike that had not won a riders’ championship in 20 years, the Spaniard came out of the blue to take advantage of the Covid-hit curtailed season and the absence of the injured six-time champion Marc Marquez to win the world’s most coveted title on two wheels. After failing to defend his crown last year, the 24-year-old feels Japanese team Suzuki is in a better position to fight for victories and eventually the MotoGP championship, being broadcast on Eurosport in India.
