Abrams tanks to launch strike drones? America unveils Perch 2. 0 after Ukraine’s battlefield lessons

Has Ukraine’s battlefield experience exposed the vulnerabilities of America’s M1 Abrams tanks in the age of drone warfare? General Dynamics Land Systems has unveiled Perch 2.0, a launcher system designed to let Abrams tanks and other armoured vehicles deploy Switchblade loitering munitions while crews remain under armour. Equipped with electro-optical and infrared sensors, the system could help troops scout terrain, identify concealed targets and strike beyond the direct line of sight. The U.S. Army is expected to evaluate prototypes as Washington explores new approaches to armoured combat. After reported Abrams losses in Ukraine, could drone-launching tanks become part of the future of battlefield warfare?
