Military leaders of central African nation Gabon announced takeover of power on live tv following the disputed elections which had extended President Bongo’s family’s 56-year rule on the poverty-stricken country. Soldiers on live tv said that the election results are annulled and the country’s borders are closed amid fears of unrest. President Bongo, who is accused of muzzling the democratic process, won his third term after official results were announced.
