After USA Lets Off Cop Who Killed Indian Student Jaahnavi Kandula, Indian Govt Reveals Next Step

The Consulate General of India in Seattle reacted strongly after a US prosecutor dropped charges on a US police officer for killing Indian student Jaahnavi Kandula in Seattle in 2023. The Indian consulate, in a post on 'X', said that "We have raised the matter strongly with local authorities, including Seattle Police, for appropriate redress, and the case has now been referred to the Seattle City Attorney’s Office for review." 23-year-old Kandula was killed by Police Officer Kevin Dave's patrol vehicle as she was crossing a street. On February 22, the King County Prosecutor’s Office said they would not move forward with criminal charges against Kevin Dave, citing a lack of evidence.
