Pakistan has delivered its strongest defence pledge to Saudi Arabia as escalating Houthi attacks put Riyadh’s alliances to the test. Military spokesperson Lt. Gen. Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry said Islamabad stands with the Kingdom both “diplomatically and physically” and would go “to any extent” required by Saudi leadership. But Pakistan has not committed to direct military action against the Houthis, while the new Saudi-Pakistan-Türkiye collective-defence pact remains untested in combat. With Riyadh under growing pressure, will MBS’ allies actually enter the fight or keep pushing diplomacy?
