The Trinamool Congress (TMC) has alleged that heavy police deployment and barricades were placed outside the residences of Mamata Banerjee and Abhishek Banerjee to prevent them from visiting the family of a 12-year-old girl who was allegedly raped and murdered in Baruipur, near Kolkata. TMC leader Derek O’Brien shared visuals on social media, claiming central forces had restricted the movement of the two leaders. Meanwhile, police said two people have been arrested and three others detained for questioning in connection with the case, while prohibitory orders remain in force in parts of the area. The victim's body was recovered from a pond a day after she went missing, sparking protests by locals demanding justice.
