Here's your dose of inspiration this Sunday — Cops in Bhopal are working overtime to teach slum kids so they aren't forced into a life of crime. The first-of-its-kind school opened on the premises of a local police station. The initiative, created by the city police force, teaches children from age 4 to 12. Each morning children are picked up from their slums in red-beaconed police vehicles for school. Initially children were hesitant to join, but now kids flock to the classes. But who thought of this? It's an innovation of Bhopal senior superintendent of police, Raman Singh Sikarwar and this Bal Sanjeevani Paramarsh Kendra school is funded by the city's police department. The senior superintendent of police also hopes these children will help police fight the anti-social activities rife in slum areas once the grow up.
