BJP MLAs to return Gehlot’s iPhone gift;‘Post-budget giveaway is waste of money'

• In a big move citing financial burden on the state government, Rajasthan BJP has decided that their MLAs in the assembly will return the gift that Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot gave them post the budget session on February 23. Along with a copy of the budget, the Rajasthan government handed over a brand new iPhone to each of the 200 MLAs costing ₹75,000 and above. The BJP has taken offence to the move and stated that the gift is a waste of money keeping in view the financial situation in the state. The gift was costing the state government nearly ₹1.5 crore.
