Central African Republic Gold Mine Disaster Leaves 100+ Dead, Several Trapped

More than 100 people have died after a low-tech artisanal gold mine collapsed in the village of Zamboye, according to a Red Cross volunteer and a local official. The mine, located in Nana-Mambere prefecture near the Cameroon border, collapsed on Tuesday morning. Several survivors were critically injured, while others remain missing or trapped beneath the rubble, raising fears the death toll could increase.
