Death linked to Pfizer vaccine in New Zealand; govt says benefits outweigh risks

- In a grim development regarding the Covid-19 pandemic, New Zealand recorded its first death linked to the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine, as per reports. An independent vaccine safety monitoring board reviewed the death and considered myocarditis to be the cause of death. Myocarditis is a known rare side-effect of the Pfizer jab. The condition can limit the heart's ability to pump blood, and can cause changes in the heartbeat rhythm.
