Omicron: Why this Covid ‘variant of concern’ is deemed more dangerous than Delta

A new Covid variant is wreaking havoc across the world, concerning health experts. Omicron has been dubbed as the ‘most concerning’ since the delta variant by some. The B.1.1.529 variant is considered dangerous due to its increased transmissibility. It is believed to have originated in South Africa (on November 24, according to WHO). The World Health Organisation (WHO) said the first known confirmed infection was from a specimen collected on November 9. Omicron has been seen in travellers to Belgium, Hong Kong, Israel and southern Africa. Watch the full video for more.
