  • All centrally protected monuments, museums & sites reopened on Wednesday. The monuments were closed for around two months due to Covid-19 pandemic. An order in this regard was issued by Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) on Monday. As per the order, 3,693 monuments and 50 museums across the country will welcome tourists and visitors. In an April 15 order, ASI had shut these monuments till May 31 due to a surge in Covid cases. Last year, all monuments & sites maintained by ASI were closed due to Covid on March 17. Monuments reopened in July with strict norms like mandatory wearing of masks, etc. The restrictions in view of coronavirus were relaxed later in the year.
