India created history by winning the ICC Men's T20 World Cup for the second consecutive time, defeating New Zealand national cricket team in a dominant final. Batting first, India posted a massive 255/5, powered by a brilliant 89-run knock from Sanju Samson, who was later named Player of the tournament. Contributions also came from Abhishek Sharma and Ishan Kishan, and Jasprit Bumrah. Meanwhile, Shivam Dube smashed a quick 26 off just 8 balls to boost the total. Chasing the massive target, New Zealand struggled early, losing key wickets in the powerplay. Only Tim Seifert showed resistance, but the Kiwis were restricted to 159 runs, handing India a massive 96-run victory. With this triumph, Suryakumar Yadav becomes the third Indian captain to lift the T20 World Cup trophy. The win also marks India’s third T20 World Cup title and the first time India have defeated New Zealand in a T20 World Cup match.
