Defence Ministry sets record straight on Operation Sindoor fallen heroes’ 2025 honour

The government has said the six military personnel killed during Operation Sindoor were formally honoured in 2025 and not acknowledged for the first time only after their names were recently added to the National War Memorial. The defence ministry said reports suggesting their sacrifice had only now been brought to public notice were “incorrect” and added that the nation paid tribute to the fallen soldiers at the earliest opportunity .
