Bengal polls: Dharmendra Pradhan urges EC to deploy paramilitary force

- Union minister Dharmendra Pradhan appealed to EC to deploy paramilitary forces in poll-bound West Bengal. The union minister was in Nandigram to attend BJP's 'padayatra' led by Suvendu Adhikari. Pradhan's appeal comes after an alleged clash between BJP and TMC workers in Nandigram. “Mamata Banerjee should fight elections in West Bengal in a democratic way. After 'padayatra' started today, our youth leader was attacked in front of me. I appeal to the Election Commission to deploy paramilitary forces in Nandigram. I am going to visit our leader in the hospital, his condition is serious. I have also got to know that TMC goons are standing outside the hospital,” he said. Last week, Mamata had been injured in Nandigram and had alleged a conspiracy by BJP. Nandigram is set witness the most high-profile contest of West Bengal elections. CM Mamata Banerjee will take on her former aide Adhikari who joined BJP last year.
