- Union Home Minister Amit Shah continued his campaign blitz in West Bengal ahead of the fifth phase of voting on April 17. The Bharatiya Janata Party leader was seen holding a massive roadshow in Santipur. He also addressed a gathering in South 24 Parganas where he warned Mamata Banerjee - the incumbent Chief Minister of Bengal - to be ready to submit her resignation on May 2, the day election results will be declared.
