- Local leaders of Trinamool Congress in Bengal's Birbhum performed 'purification ritual’. 'Purification ritual' was performed for party workers joining the TMC from BJP. The joining camp was organised in Ilambazar block of Birbhum by local TMC leaders. BJP workers joining TMC were given party flags after sanitisers were sprayed on them. Recently, TMC has seen an influx of people switching over from BJP across the state. This came after TMC recorded a landslide victory in the recently concluded Bengal polls. Notably, BJP's Alipurduar District chief Ganga Prasad Sharma joined TMC on Monday. Earlier this month, former BJP national VP Mukul Roy & his son Subhranshu joined TMC. Mukul's 'ghar wapsi' took place in Kolkata in presence of West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee.
