I-T dept conducts survey at Sonu Sood's premises; AAP fires at BJP

• The Income Tax department on Wednesday surveyed at least six properties in Mumbai, Lucknow linked to actor Sonu Sood, reports said. The I-T officials visit, which was not termed as a raid, was in connection with an alleged tax evasion probe. It was not immediately known whether the I-T officials also visited the actor's residence. The survey comes after the AAP govt in Delhi picked Sood as face for its mentorship initiative. Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal took to Twitter & extended his support for the Bollywood actor. Lashing out at Modi govt, AAP leader Raghav Chadha termed the I-T action as a witch-hunt. The 48-year-old actor was hailed as a real-life hero for helping people during lockdown. Sood helped migrants head back home, provided medical supplies to people in need. AAP MLA Atishi released a video statement on Twitter slamming the I-T survey. In 2012, I-T dept had conducted raids on premises of many Bollywood celebs including Sood. There were reports of allegations against his Mumbai property which he had bought in Rs.30 crore.
