Vladimir Putin's aide Vitaly Milonov has suggested that Greenland should become part of Russia. Speaking with Gazeta.ru, the Russian lawmaker said, "The Danish autonomous territory of Greenland should join the Russian Federation because its indigenous people and Russia’s Inuit population speak related languages."
