Hit Tehran’s oil, force Mojtaba to bend: is Trump planning to strike Kharg island for Iran showdown?

U.S. President Donald Trump is reportedly weighing strikes on Iran’s Kharg Island, a critical oil export hub that handles around 90% of the country’s crude exports. According to reports, potential targets could include oil storage tanks, pipelines, loading facilities and military sites, as Washington seeks to pressure Tehran over its nuclear programme and freedom of navigation through the Strait of Hormuz. With Iran demanding a ceasefire, sanctions relief and the release of frozen assets, a strike on Kharg Island could deal a major blow to its oil trade while risking further escalation across the Gulf.
