'Difficult to convince youth to leave J&K for…': Omar on 'othering' of Kashmiris post-Red Fort blast

Published on Dec 06, 2025 05:01 pm IST

At HTLS 2025, J&K Chief Minister Omar Abdullah spoke about the growing “othering” of Kashmiris after the Red Fort blast. He said it has become “difficult to convince youth to leave J&K for studies or jobs” when they fear suspicion and discrimination outside the Valley. Omar condemned the terror attack but warned against branding all Kashmiris as suspects, stressing that such attitudes deepen alienation and harm national unity. A pointed and powerful reminder of the need for fairness, trust, and inclusion.
