Kangana bungalow case: Mumbai mayor slams actor, says ‘will study HC judgment’

Updated on Nov 28, 2020 08:16 am IST

Mumbai Mayor Kishori Pednekar spoke on Bombay High Court's verdict in Kangana Ranaut's bungalow demolition case. Pednekar said that BMC will first study HC's judgment before deciding the next step. She added that the past HC orders regarding section 354A of MMC Act will also be checked. Kangana Ranaut was reportedly issued the 354A notice under Mumbai Municipal Corporation Act. Section 354A empowers a civic body, its officials to stop any ongoing illegal construction. Earlier in the day, Bombay HC had declared BMC's action of demolishing part of Kangana's bungalow as illegal. The bench was hearing Kangana's petition challenging the demolition carried out by BMC. Demolition at Kangana's Pali Hill bungalow in suburb Bandra was carried out on September 9. BMC had opposed the plea, saying the actor had unlawfully carried out alterations to the bungalow.
