Must abolish triple talaq, nikah halala for women equality: President Kovind

President of India, Ramnath Kovind, addressed a joint session of the Parliament, days after members of the 17th Lok Sabha were sworn in. Speaking on the issue of women equality and empowerment, he said that practices like triple talaq and nikah halala must be eradicated. President Kovind also appealed to the Members of Parliament to ensure that women achieve an equal status in society.
