NC demands government to clear stance on Article 35 A ahead of Panchayat elections

On Wednesday, the National Conference said that it will boycott the upcoming panchayat and local body elections in Jammu and Kashmir if the Centre and state government do not clear their stand on Article 35 A. Article 35 A provides special rights to the restive state's citizens. National Conference president and former chief minister Farooq Abdullah announced the decision and said his party will fight tooth and nail all the sinister attempts aimed at interfering with the constitutional guarantee in any manner what so ever.
