‘Saffron Holi’ at BJP party office in UP

The BJP is on course to a two-thirds majority in Uttar Pradesh, where Prime Minister Narendra Modi led the charge, early counting trends have indicated. The celebrations, at the BJP party office in Lucknow, a little after noon when the trends started showing a clear indication towards the party. If the trends hold, it will be a huge comeback for the BJP, which has been out of power in India's largest state for 14 years. It will also be a repeat of its Lok Sabha sweep, when it won 71 of the 80 seats. The alliance of Akhilesh Yadav and Rahul Gandhi is lagging behind, while Mayawati's BSP is at the third position right now.
