Will Railway recruit for vacancies this year? Board chairman answers

Railway board chairman Vinod Kumar spoke on vacancies and tests amid Covid-19 pandemic. Kumar said that 1.40 lakh vacancies were notified in railway before covid-19 and 2.42 crore applications were received for the notified vacancies. He further informed that the applications were scrutinized but they couldn't conduct exams due to the pandemic. Now, the Board has decided that computer-based exams will begin from 15 December. The selected candidates would be issued appointment letters soon. “We are discussing how to conduct training for those joining alp. Training is done in the field; necessary to take all precautions,” he added.
