India has issued a sharp warning to Pakistan amid escalating water dispute tensions. The Ministry of External Affairs condemned recent “war-mongering” remarks from Pakistani leaders, including PM Shehbaz Sharif’s vow to block water flow and Army Chief Gen Asim Munir’s threat to destroy dams. New Delhi called these statements reckless and warned that any misadventure would invite “painful consequences,” citing recent military action in Operation Sindoor.
