Cauvery row: Activists vandalize Wipro office in Mysore

Activists vandalized Wipro office in Mysore city of Karnataka during the shutdown to protest the Supreme Court's order to release 9,000 cusec of water from River Cauvery to neighboring Tamil Nadu. The state observed a 12-hour shutdown today. The activists entered the campus of Wipro, disrupted work, broke the windowpanes and forced the staff members to leave the office. Later, police officials were called upon, who brought the situation under control. Cutting across party lines, regional leaders and Cauvery river organizations today registered their protests over the directive of the apex court.
