Around 6000 trees have been axed on the banks of Yamuna River in Noida giving way to an ambitious concrete park-a controversial brainchild of Mayawati, where she intends to prop up her statues. Mayawati's efforts to eulogize herself and her party's status at the cost of Noida'S natural resources and crores of people's money are drawing a huge flak all over. Over 33 hectares of the green belt in the memorial park has been damaged and the locals are fuming over the insensibility.
